I design shoots with the intent to marry art and storytelling, so I knew I'd struck gold when I found The Oak Atelier’s dreamy greenhouse, The Willow. I discovered Jada’s whimsical arrangements and vibrant colors (@floraldreamshtx), and the inspiration just kept coming. We wanted new brides to see that you can throw out the rulebook, play with color, and still create an elegant affair straight from a fairytale.
I connected with New York designer Maribel (@lotusthreadsnyc), and the perfect, fluffy pink tulle gown came to play. Olivia Mar (@oliviamarjewelry) designed rings specially made to complement the dress, featuring a pale pink opal and raw diamonds. The rings arrived with the most beautiful handmade note, and I can't believe she was kind enough to involve me in the ring design process!
The icing on the cake is gorgeous Angie (@angie_htx28), who stepped up to the plate with less than 24 hour notice due to our original models getting sick. She generously drove a fair distance before work to share her time with us and we are so grateful!
Some of my favorite details came together moments before I pulled out the camera. Angie walked in wearing long earrings, and I improvised attaching leftover stems to them to create real floral earrings. They’re such a statement piece and tied in all the details so beautifully! Do you love them as much as I do?!
What do you think, will pink gowns and fresh floral earrings usher in your fairytale wedding era? And if you're single, or married like me, can you imagine how FUN it would be to get this creative on solo portraits or an anniversary session? Pure magic.
